Datanglah Kemari dan Ikutlah Aku – Come and Follow Me.
Our time is precious and each hour counts. Today on Monday July 20, 2020 we just had another MIRACLE HOUR. It is a concise biblical message that could benefits our walk on faith in the Marketplace. Today message is about putting God first above all, brought by Lydia Emy Trimahanani (Management Consultant).
The word of God is like a mirror. It exposes what is in our heart as well our sin. There are things might be hidden from our own understanding for our lack of discernment. But by the grace of God, His word is able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart. Therefore we come to know our own shortcomings and use such awareness to repent from our sins.
“Dare to put Jesus number one”
Lydia Emy Trimahanani is bringing a massage taken from Matthew 19:16-21. It is a story about a wealthy young man who had exerts oneself to almost everything he possibly could to receive eternal life, yet felt something is incomplete. He understands that life is more than just worldly success therefore he stretched his mindset of goal all the way to eternal life. He had successfully tried to comply with the law of God from his youth. Such a decent, kind, visionary and wealthy young man of his time
Finally the moment of his life arrived, he got the chance to meet and ask directly to Jesus the Savior for the way of salvation. Jesus, knowing what he was bound to, answered exactly what he needed to do. Jesus even extended an invitation to follow Him. But when the young man heard Jesus told him to sell all of his possessions and give the money to the poor, he went away sorrowful, for he was very rich. Jesus’ words revealed that in this man’s sight, the treasures of this world are more valuable than his own eternal life.
“Come and follow me”
The message today is not about believer of Jesus cannot possess anything or having a successful life. It is about discerning whether Jesus is number one and still number one for us. How much we value our salvation. Have we truly believed by heart that all the success, wisdom, even kindness of this world, is never enough. Is there any other idol in our heart that hinders us from following Jesus, or maybe a long time unsettled sins.
Jesus is the key answer for all of our lacks. The one and foremost is the lack of certainty of our eternal state, the destiny after we died knowing that we have sinned. This is the message of the gospel. John 3:16 stated that Jesus humbly came down to this world as human, died for our sins and raised from the dead on the third day, displaying his Lordship and victory over death. Only through Jesus Christ we can be at peace without any lack.
Sister Lydia Emy Trimahanani was closing the message with prayer guidance for salvation and as well for those who want to follow Jesus, to have a meaningful life for His great commission. We are truly blessed by today’s message. We give thanks and all praise to the Lord that apart from Him we can do none. He is Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
