‘HIDUP YANG BERCAHAYA’- Living in The Light of Christ
This very hour, we just finished another MIRACLE HOUR service, a concise weekly biblical message about the best practice of our walk on faith in the Marketplace. Our message today is about living in the light of Christ, brought by Mesra Trivena (Educator in Intercultural School).
Jesus said “I am The Light of the World”
We are living in the time where the works of the darkness are becoming more acceptable or even undetected in our daily surroundings. A simple analogy is when we are experiencing electricity shutdown and we try to do things in pitch black darkness. We would easily loose our sense of direction, grasped by the fear of not knowing what is going on and bump into things that we cannot identify. And that is exactly how the people of this world operate their life when they are outside Jesus Christ.
In John 8:12, Jesus said: “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”. We need The Light, we need Jesus! He loves us and had died for our transgression so that we received everlasting life. Through Jesus, we are called out of darkness into His marvelous light.
“Let Your Light Shines”
The light that we have in Jesus is precious and powerful. Through our enlightened and transformed life, God positioned us to be the light in our surroundings, including in our workplace. Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus clearly stated: “You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
God can use our daily life for others to see the reality of Him. We are the living example of what is means to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, from the way walk, talk, making decision or facing any problem that are distinct or even contrasting what the people who are still in the dark would do. And for that reason, if we live in His light, God will positioned us in such a way that our light can be seen by the people He wants to reach.
Our sister Mesra Trivena was closing today’s message with a prayer for those who want to give their life to Jesus, who wants to be the light, that were called by His own name for the great commission. Praise the Lord, the light shines in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not. Let Jesus’ light in our life shines in this darkened world, so that people would see Him and say “Jesus is Lord and Savior”. Amen
