Abide in Him

To have an eternal life is to abide in God for there are fullness of joy and pleasures in His presence (Psalm 16:11). Today’s Miracle Hour was brought by dr. Vera Herlina (General Practitioner)

Miracle Hour 5 Oktober 2020The Joy of Abiding in God

We can possess a lot of things in this life. We can gain a lot of wealth, get positions that many people want, complete family, good children, and many other things. However, these things cannot fill the emptiness of our soul for it can only be filled by the Lord Jesus Christ. John 15:4 (NKJV) “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” This is an invitation from our creator, the One who created heaven and earth. It’s an invitation for us to abide in Him. If we abide in Him, He will abide in us.

Revelation 3:20(NKJV) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” God’s desire to live with us is like a Father’s desire for his child, a desire to always be close to His beloved heart. God is standing at the door of our hearts at the moment and inviting us to abide in Him. When he knocks the doors of our hearts, He expresses His desire to be with us forever. That’s why He died on the cross for us, to atone for our sins because He knows that if we commit sins, we are not be able to be with Him. However, He was willing to die on the cross for our sins so that we will have eternal life with Him. This the great plan of God for us.

Even though we do many things in this world, eventually everything will end. Maybe our age will only reach the age of 70 or 80 years, our careers will stop at the age of 60 years, and we will be retired from our jobs.  All of these will come to an end on this earth. However, the thing that will not end is our lives with God. We will live eternally with Him.

How God longs to be with us. It is such a wonderful thing if we abide in Him and He abides in us. When do our work, when we face struggles or problems, and even in the midst of this pandemic, the Lord is with us.

dr. Vera Herlina closed today’s message by leading the congregation to believe in Jesus Christ. She led them in a prayer of salvation, inviting them to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Amen.
